Short CV:
- Laura Pellegrino received her Bachelor Degree in Bioengineering from University of Pavia in April 2010. Lately, in December 2012, she graduated from University of Genoa with the Master Degree in Neuroengineering. Her master thesis project focused on the gesture-based interaction with virtual environments for the acquisition of social skills in adults with autism spectrum disorders.
In January 2014 she started her PhD in Bioengineering at University of Genoa in collaboration with NeuroLab. Her research focuses on the integration between robots and Bidirectional Body-Machine Interfaces (BMI), with the goal of promoting a gradual and continuous reorganization of body movements. She investigates whether and how closing the BMI loop with different feedback (e.g. visual, haptic and proprioceptive) can influence the task execution and the recovery process.
