- Camilla Pierella has acquired Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Engineering at Polytechnique of Marche (2009) and Master Degree in Bioengineering at University of Genoa - curriculum in Neuroengineering (2012). She carried out a master thesis project focused on the optimization of the sitting pivot transfer motion in paraplegic subjects using functional electrical stimulation. The project was developed during a 5 months internship at LIRMM (Laboratoire d'Informatique de Robotique et de Microeletronique de Montpellier), working with DEMAR team, Montpellier (France), and was funded by the Erasmus Placement program. In January 2013 she started her PhD in Bioengineering at University of Genoa working in NeuroLab and in collaboration with Northwestern University and Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC). Her main research activities are related with motor adaptation, neurorehabilitation and body-machine interfaces.
